The budget committee of Bob Toles, Preston Dillon, Denise Unrein, and myself will be meeting on December 2, 2015 to finalize next year’s budget. We have two changes for next year - CREN will increase MLS fees by 10% beginning January 1, 2015, and CAR dues will increase from $145.00 per year to $165.00 per year in 2015 – everything else will remain the same.
The new Strategic Plan and Personnel Policies have been distributed to the BOD for review for changes, additions, and recommendations.
The 2015 Annual Dues billing went out through Ecommerce on November 5, 2014. They will also be billed through the Board office and you should be receiving those anytime. FYI, Payment by check saves the Board bank service charges. Please consider doing the voluntary contributions to RPAC and CARHOF. See below.
RPAC
Since 1969, the REALTORS® Political Action Committee (RPAC) has promoted the election of pro-REALTOR® candidates across the United States. The purpose of RPAC is clear: REALTORS® raise and spend money to elect candidates who understand and support their interests. The money to accomplish this comes from voluntary contributions made by REALTORS®. These are not members’ dues; this is money given freely by REALTORS® in recognition of how important campaign fundraising is to the political process. RPAC doesn’t buy votes. RPAC enables REALTORS® to support candidates that support the issues that are important to their profession and livelihood

2015 CREC Classes will try to be scheduled for February. No ethics class will be scheduled, as everyone is up to date for 2015. Way to go!
Our Southwest District VP, Denise Storm, was present at the Board Meeting and presented updates on the CAR Convention, the NAR Convention in New Orleans, and NAR Core Mandatory Standards.
There was Brokers Forum on November 17th. Jeff Follis was there to give the Brokers an update on what is happening with CREN. He also discussed copyright protection for MLS listing content. Please find attached a copy of Frequently Asked Questions on copyright protection for MLS Listing content. We will be seeing a lot of changes in the new few months and years on syndication. We will be seeing more requirements from the National Association of Realtors regarding the MLS’s.
Respectfully submitted,
Carol Click, President
